Minimum System Requirements:


  • Operating System: Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista (special requirements, see below.) The ShowingDesk WE Installed application is not currently supported in other environments.
  • Memory: 256 MB RAM
  • Hard Drive Space: 100 MB for installation and additional space for database growth as needed
  • Processor: Pentium 4 or equivalent

Minimum Windows Vista & Windows 7 Requirements:

  • Memory: 512 MB RAM
  • Processor: 1.5 GHz

Recommended System Requirements:

  • Memory: 512 MB RAM
  • Processor: 1 GHz

Recommended Windows Vista & Windows 7 Requirements:

  • Memory: 1 GB RAM
  • Processor: 2 GHz

Network

Fast Internet (broadband) Internet connection.  Recommend at least 1MB bandwidth for optimal performance.

If the ShowingDesk WE computer is running any personal firewall software (such as the firewall built into Windows XP Service Pack 2, Norton Internet Security, Zone Alarm, Black Ice, MacAfee Personal Firewall, etc.) this software must be either disabled or configured to allow access to the Internet for the ShowingDesk WE software.  (Please contact your network or Internal support department for assistance)

Any office-level firewalls must allow access to the Internet via Port 80 (standard Internet browsing) for ShowingDesk WE to work.  That is the only required port for operation. (Please contact your network or Internal support department for assistance)

Web Browser

We recognize that our visitors may have various operating systems and Internet browsers. Although we want every visitor to have the best possible experience on our website, we understand it is impossible to provide web pages that work identically, efficiently, and effectively with all browsers. Currently ShowingTime products are best viewed and utilized with Internet Explorer 7 or higher.

Other browsers such as the latest versions of Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, and Apple Safari can also be used, although some applications may not have the best performance and presentation with other, less common browsers.

Mobile Browsers are not currently supported, although many functions may be available depending on the device used.

You will need to make sure that http://we.showingdesk.com is a trusted site and not restricted or blocked. http://we.showingdesk.com does not use pop-ups.

Other browsers may require additional configuration. ShowingDesk Support may not be able to assist you in this configuration.

Printer Requirements

  • ShowingDesk WE can print "Immediate Notification Messages".  Since all reports are also printed on full sheets, we recommend that you use a laser or inkjet printer for ShowingDesk WE. Printed documents are printed to the device set in the control panel of ShowingDesk.


Access Permissions

  • Computer users should also have the ability to read, write and execute items in the local installation folder for ShowingDesk WE. Your computer professional can provide the users this ability. The default installation folder is C:\Program Files\ShowingTime.


E-mail Suggestions

  • ShowingDesk WE can send email to more than one email address . Different mail services handle HTML email in various ways. Many free services like Gmail or Yahoo, offer reliable secondary email services. Your email client can often be modified to correctly display this email. Please consult the documentation for your email client for further information. In ShowingDesk WE, separate your different email addresses with a comma (,) or semicolon(;)


64-bit Architecture

  • At this time ShowingDesk WE does not support 64 bit architecture. In the near future the client and webservices will be modified to support this.



Suggestion: The developers of ShowingDesk WE recommend that you have a local computer hardware or network technician available to counsel you on your hardware requirements, installation and setup, and when necessary, to handle repairs on your computer equipment or network.
